That sounds pretty bad . . .

Why would the bridges be so damaged? I'm also surprised to hear that Breguet would require you to purchase a whole new movement. This sounds very odd. I don't understand this issue of the movement being discontinued and therefore you need to buy an entire movement to repair some parts. Presumably, Breguet would be able to manufacture spare parts, or would have parts in stock. After all, we're talking about the Type XX, Breguet produced thousands of these watches and I find it very troubling if they would require such high repair costs if the movement has now been discontinued. I have a ref 3820 and would hate to hear that next time I send it in for service, I would be told that since the movement has been discontinued the repair cost is now the cost of an entire new movement. Was your watch damaged severely? Why would the bridges need repair? Very odd . . . Perhaps someone who is closer to the brand than I might chime in to offer some advice?

No trauma to the watch. It was working fine one day and then all of a sudden stopped working. I am having Breguet send the watch back to me. Do any of you have any advice on where to go next? Any local watchmakers (NE USA) that people would recommend? Hop...
